GOOD NEWS! Reduced rate VAT for energy saving materials, remains unchanged in 2011
Despite the increase in standard rate VAT from 17.5% to 20% from 4th January 2011, the reduced rate VAT remains unchanged at 5%. This applies to residential air source heat pump (and other energy saving materials/technology) installations. Zero rated VAT applies where installations are for new houses.
