Daikin Altherma Monobloc System awarded the European Ecolabel
The Daikin Altherma Monobloc LT (Low Temperature) EBHQ-B 6kW & 8kW system has now been awarded the European Ecolabel, known as ‘the flower’, in recognition of the systems high environmental performance, joining the 11kW, 14kW & 16kW systems already awarded.

Breakthrough Technology - 'Daikin Altherma Flex'
Space Air Solutions is pleased to announce that the breakthrough technology - ‘Daikin Altherma Flex’ - multi type air-to-water heat pump system has won two prestigious innovation awards. At the Environment and Energy Awards, held in May as part of the Sustainability Live event, the Altherma Flex won the ‘Innovation Award for Environmental Technology’ and at the National Heat Pump Awards, held in June, this Daikin model was also winner under the category ‘Product Innovation’. The system was chosen due to the great potential that the Daikin Altherma Flex system offers for reducing carbon emissions and energy bills, particularly in apartment buildings.

The 1st National Heat Pump Awards held 23rd June at the ICC Birmingham, proved to be very successful evening for Space Air. The Guildford based Daikin distributor was nominated under 3 categories; Air Source Commercial Project of the year – in conjunction with Paul Kenney Air Conditioning, Public Sector Project of the Year – working with Southern Counties Heating & Plumbing and Consultant of the year – in conjunction with Camco Global, our hopes were high.

Available from Space Air Solutions, the New Daikin Altherma Monobloc, model ref: EBHQ, air to water heat pump system for heating and/or hot water, is compact in size (up to 15% less installation space than a contemporary heat pump), is easy to install and has all necessary hydraulic components located within the outdoor unit.

GOOD NEWS! Reduced rate VAT for energy saving materials, remains unchanged in 2011
Despite the increase in standard rate VAT from 17.5% to 20% from 4th January 2011, the reduced rate VAT remains unchanged at 5%. This applies to residential air source heat pump (and other energy saving materials/technology) installations. Zero rated VAT applies where installations are for new houses.
Not all heat pumps are the same
"The disturbing news that a major manufacturer has needed to issue a safety recall on all its packaged air to water heat pumps, the majority of which have been installed in residential applications, highlights a number of important issues that should have been addressed much sooner and that we have warned industry about in the past."
