Housing Association Refurb — Wiltshire
The Government, through the Technology Strategy Board (TSB), allocated £17million to find innovative ways of reducing carbon emissions and provide exemplar energy efficient measures in the UK social housing sector. Sarsen Housing was awarded funding for the whole house refurbishment of an off-gas 1930’s three bed, semi-detached unoccupied house that had poor levels of energy efficiency, near Devizes, Wiltshire. The challenge was to turn the house into a highly energy efficient home. Sarsen Housing will be evaluated by the Energy Saving Trust for at least 2 years with the potential for lower cost implementation in volume across the remaining social housing stock.
