The Daikin Altherma air-to-water heat pump system, supplied by Space Air Solutions, has been chosen to provide the heating and hot water for a new Courtyard development in Jersey. The 4 bedroom homes conceal the Daikin Altherma system by positioning the hot water storage cylinder with expansion vessel in the airing cupboard, the indoor hydrobox boiler has been placed in the utility room with casing around all pipe work. The outdoor units have been positioned out of sight on the roof, possible due to the Daikin Altherma systems long pipe runs.
The highly efficienct low temperature Daikin Altherma heat pump system, supplied by Space Air, has been installed into a new and exclusive luxury development. The air to water system blends into the contemporary design, as it is situated in a plant room without the need for flues or ventilation and connected to underfloor heating throughout. The Daikin Altherma system has been set up to operate continually via a time clock on the ‘advanced’ controller.
Space Air first launched the Daikin Altherma system to the UK at the Ecobuild show in 2005 and the following year at the Ideal Home Show. This substantial, classic Surrey home on a private, gated estate near Guildford suffered from poor insulation, original single glazed windows and an oversized, inefficient gas boiler. This 2 bedroom maisonette was purchased with no central heating system and a direct electric water heater. The property was in need of updating generally. Although mains gas was available, the new owners were keen to incorporate a more energy efficient central heating and hot water system.
